One of our fundamental values is to teach people the wonderful opportunities nature provides. The reason? More people spending more time outdoors means more value of our gorgeous green spaces, so they are there for years to come.

The benefits of spending time outside on mental and physical health are widespread – from helping with anxiety and depression to improving short term memory and boosting your immune system. Connection with nature is second to none. It’s what we were born to do!

“Andy was efficient in providing sound risk assessments. I also had my own risk assessments specific to our members. Our sessions included: building a safe, warm, weather-proof shelter, carving a tent peg from a branch and finding appropriate woodland materials to create a water filtering system. All instructions given were tailored to suit the four members of the group. Clear, concise delivery that gave a real sense of empowerment. Myself and the other Director were very impressed with the service. Andy was articulate in his approach to our members and kept safety a priority whilst facilitating adventurous sessions, boosting self-esteem and a great sense of achievement.”

We have activities designed specifically for those unable to do the hard labour associated with some bushcraft activities yet still be engaging, educational and fun! For example, instead of building full-sized shelters (a sweat-inducing job for the fittest folk!), we use the same principles to build model shelters, teaching similar skills without the sweat!

My 8 year old came home today and the first thing she said was “can I go again?” Lovely friendly people who run it and they encourage children to be kids. Get messy, mess in the dirt, climb trees and of course, toast marshmallows!!! They are busy all day and come back with new skills and tired out. Wonderful, we can’t wait to come back.
